Happy Blogiversary

I just wanted to say "Happy Blogiversary" to all the B Town Boyz. It was two years ago today (12.30.05) that this blog was created. Clint predicted the blog would die out in 10 weeks, and who'da thought it'd last this long? How things have changed... two years ago, the Buckeyes were set to play Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl (btw, final: OSU 34, ND 20), Clint just got an XBOX (not 360) for XMAS, Z was livin' it up in India, and T was preparing for his New Year's Eve performance of "Shake It Off."

Burnout Paradise

releases Jan 22nd. I think it is a more stripped down version of Burnout. I had the previous iteration of Burnout on the 360 and it was great. It had high replay value. All the different variations of the tracks and side games made the game different every level progressed (it wasn't like playing the same boards over and over and over and over and over and over again). I hope it is set for the force feedback steering wheel (all I need is Microsoft to sent me the return box so I can get my steering wheel fixed). Can't wait for it to come out. Gotta go (heading up to Michigan). The Red Wings play at home tomorrow night. Usually the owners take us to a local game if they are at home.

The Snappy Response Theory

I was talking with my friend Nathan (Lodar) last night, and he informed me of a theory he came up with. It didn't have a name, so I'm calling it the Snappy Response Theory. Here goes...

If someone asks you a question or makes a statement, you can respond EVERY TIME with one of the following lines:

1. "That's what she said."
2. "Because you're and idiot."
3. "Sounds like a plan."

You: I think I ate too much meat.
Me: That's what she said.

You: Why is the sky blue?
Me: Because you're an idiot.

You: I feel like I'm going to throw up.
Me: Sounds like a plan.

Cheaper that Anti-Depressants

I Need Answers...

As part of the re-design, I need a few answers, specifically from those who view this blog the most (Z, T, Juddy, Clint, and Marie).

1. What browser do you use (including version)?
2. What is your screen resolution?

For example... I use Firefox @ 1280x1024.

Tnank you.

does this sound familiar to anyone?

has no one in the prison system ever watched "the shawshank redemption"? seriously. as much as i hate a man convicted of manslaughter on the loose, if our penal system is THAT retarded, he deserves it. so i'll help out the law enforcement officers... if you want to catch these guys, they are at the warden's bank right now, withdrawing all the warden's bribe money. go get 'em. hurry, the credits are about to roll.

more Crysis awesomeness

i can't get enough of this finite model element analysis (FMEA) stuff. i might just have to buy crysis for this reason. i can't believe that since i've been playing video games (maybe 20 years), we've gone from "asteroids" to this. seriously blows my mind.

Thanks for Nothing

Almost a week ago, I left a post that I wanted to re-design the BTBz Blog. I also asked for some input at to what you liked and disliked. I wanted all the BTBz to have the opportunity to have some say in what they wanted. And with the exception of Big C (who basically suggested more boobs), noone has suggested any ideas. So here's another opportunity to give me some input if you even give a shite. If I don't get some feedback this time, I'm going to assume 2 things:

1) You are completed apathetic and don't care what the fukk the site looks like or how it functions.

2) I am the BTB Gawd of web design and whatever I choose to do will be so absolutely perfect that there's no reason to question any decision I make.

Seriously though, I would like some ideas, or at least acknowledgment that you like something and would like to keep it. I'm even open to suggestions from non-BTBz that read the blog and have any ideas. I'm desperate here. I'm begging you.

Thank you.

Satellite Radio

I was one of those people who didn't understand why you'd pay 13 bucks a month to listen to music. Since I got the Trailblazer in August, I've been jonesing to activate the built in XM radio. A few weeks ago I broke down and bought a Pioneer Inno so I could also take it in my office. Long story short, I can now totally understand why you'd pay for this stuff. It's awesome. Here are my top 5 reasons you should consider satellite radio... I HIGHLY recommend you find and listen to these songs.

5. Afroman - Because I Got High
4. Dead Milkmen - Bitchin' Camaro
3. Glenn Tilbrook - [I'm standing here holding the] Genitalia of a Fool
2. Lounge Brigade - Heart Shaped Box (yes, the Nirvana song)
1. Richard Cheese - Rape Me (yes, again, the Nirvana song)

Wait! Not enough for you? Then this song will seal the deal (or creep the shit right out of you, especially if you are about to have a kid).

As heard on XM Kids channel... Uncle Jim - I've Got a Butt

New Year's Eve Party

Amy and Alan have asked me to post on the blog that they are having New Year's Eve at their house this year. They also want to have poker that night. All BTBZ's and their significant others are invited.

Future Time Wasters...

Mass Effect is pretty well reviewed. So is Rock Band. This week, NCAA March Madness 2008 comes out (I bought 2007, and it was a good game). I may have to get it. In fact, I will. I haven't purchased a sports game in a LONG TIME. Next week is MX vs. ATV Untamed. Sounds cool. I will have to check out the review of the game.

Well. Gotta Go. Been out drinkin for NFL Games. Stared at a TV too long already.

Does Anybody Recognize This Person?

I came across this picture by accident and damn-near lost my frickin' mind! Can anybody guess who the person in this picture is? I'll give you a hint... this person graduated from BHS in 1996, left B-Town to go to school in Cleveland, and once dated a 15-year-old Turkmeni prostitute. Any guesses?

B-Town Boyz Redesign

I've been throwing this idea around for a while and I'm interested to hear what you all think. I'm going to start re-designing the B-Town Boyz blog site. Not a complete re-design, but just an overhaul. I like the original design, but it's getting old and tired. Plus, I've been reading a book called "CSS Mastery" which has really given me some great ideas to add to the site. (If you don't know, CSS is a way to program styles, such as layout, tables, pics, etc..., into web pages and do some really neat things. CSS basically extends HTML from a strictly design point-of-view. If you've ever seen the back-end of Blogger, the whole set-up is purely CSS based.) Anyway, I think I'm going to start working on the updated site fairly soon, between work, sleep, and Halo.

Please give me some suggestions as to what you would all like to see. This is OUR blog and I really want input from everybody. If you don't know what you want, at least let me know what you like and don't like about the current blog. Let me know if you like the current layout (main content on the left and sidebar on the right) and what you think about the colors, logos, etc.

I already have a few changes in mind. First of all, I'm going to fix the bug that forces the right sidebar to jump to the bottom of the main content section if someone posts a video over 400 pixels wide. And I'd also like to change the link and post graphics (the arrows to the left of the link text and the arrowhead to the left of the post titles).

That's about it for now, I'll keep everyone updated with the progress and hopefully we'll have it ready to go by January. Be sure to post your suggestions and comments so I have somewhere to start from. Thanks.

A n00b to pwn...

Guys, in about 9 1/2 months, we're going to have someone else to play Xbox with. We found out Monday that Amy is pregnant. I just hope it's mine... Either way, I am going to start laying the extra controller on her stomach so it can get used to the button layout as soon as possible.

First real Dr. appointment is next Thursday so we'll get an ETA then. I'll keep you posted.

Merry Elfin'

This Game Should Be Good

I owned the original Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox, and it was, perhaps, the best game for that system. It was one of the only original Xbox games I still played on the 360. I can't wait for this sequel to be released (I sold the original one). The action and gameplay and originality will be top-flight, for sure. Day one purchase for me definitely.

On a Lighter Note...

...I think we need some boobies. And if that doesn't satisfy your need for boobies, maybe this page will.

WTF is going on with this blog?

OK, there's this thing called the Internet. On this thing called the Internet, people often exercise their freedom of speech. Amazingly enough I nor anyone I know have been visited by Bush's stormtroopers yet. I digress. One might even create a web log (or "blog" if you will) on this Internet. These "blogs" are typically set up so that one or several folks with related interests and ideas (I hear they are called "friends") can share these ideas and common interests. In fact, this text has been posted on a "blog" set up by my "friends". Now the funny thing about these blogs is that anyone can read them, but they must type in a Uniform Resource Locator (URL for short) to view the content. This means no one is subject to content of "blogs" unless they type in a URL. This also means that while this "blog" was set up and intended for only a group of "friends" (BTBZ), it is viewed by others as well. Let's go back to the URL for one second. Unless I type in the URL, I cannot view the content and therefore cannot be offended by it. If I am frequently offended by the content posted at a particular URL, I probably shouldn't visit the site going forward.

However, there's a bigger issue with this situation. This isn't a random blog that is being visited. This is the BTBZ blog. I have no personal problem with the anti-everything posts that go up. In fact some of my own posts make the frequent shitting all over God and religion that occurs here look almost acceptable, but only because they were about shit, and they were about my shit, which can be nasty. But I can tell you I don't read a damn one of the anti-Bush, etc. etc. posts I'm damn sure not going to take up arms and try to kill God because of them. I'm not even going to vote. I have a wife who does that. If you want to change the world, posting a three page tirade on Bush, Catholism, and Jesus Christ isn't doing shit and won't ever do shit. Go start a rally. Volunteer for a campaign. Write your fucking congressional representative. I simply don't care about anyone's political or religious views. Your politics and religion or lack thereof are not why I like you people 90% of the time. Posting these rants on a blog, especially this one, with is about as useless as playing Halo 3, Forza 2, GRAW 2, Guitar Hero 3, or Ace Combat 6.

We're not children anymore. Offended? Don't visit the site. Want to make policy? Run for Congress or President. The BTBZ blog isn't anywhere near that powerful folks.

At the very least create a new blog so you don't piss off a "friend".

I got an hour to kill

To clear a few things up:

1. I'm not mad at anyone, I'm not avoiding anyone, nor do I consider anyone to be a dissenter.

2. I have no problem with anything that people post on this blog. That was the reason the blog was created.

3. I have no problem with the topics that are discussed in public by anyone I know.

4. I do have a problem when someone discusses something so much that another person may feel like they are being attacked for what they believe. Especially when the person that feels like they're being attacked is a person I love. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. Leave it that way.

5. Check out this cool Halo 3 screenshot of me and C severing some guy's arms.

crysis mass phsyics demo

man, this physics demo looks amazing. the plane flying through the boxes may have been a bit much, but other than that... WOW! i don't even know what crysis is about but with this kind of game control, it's gotta be cool.

Because There's More...

than first-person shooters, I got bored with the same game and purchased some new Xbox 360 games. I picked up the venerable Guitar Hero III (Chad, I am ready for some co-op). Also, I will be having my Ace Combat 6 game with Flight Bundle delivered to my door tomorrow. Can't wait to mess with this new peripheral (since my steering wheel is broke awaiting my shipping carton). That is what HD gaming is all about: realistic simulation with accessories that put you in the action.

We're Going to THE GAME!

...with help from both the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Oklahoma Sooners.

I recorded this clip from the Pitt, WVU game. This is taken right after Pitt scored their final touchdown and are about to kick the extra point. Listen to the commentator during the crowd shot as the little boy drops his "New Orleans" sign. I laughed my ass off and HAD to post this. I hope everybody else can appreciate it too.

The Town, The Town, B-Town...

Is On Fire!!!!

holy frickin' bluetooth

man, i really might have to get a macbook, or something or other and learn linux or something or other. i always had a feeling something like this could be done. actually when i was at the hotel bar last week, i recorded the awful country song renditions the guy was playing with my phone. i then searched for other bluetooth phones in the area, tried to connect (using '0000'), and seemingly connected to several other persons' phones. i sent them the recording to remind them to never go back to that bar again since that same fellow plays mondays, tuesdays, and thursdays. i'm not sure if it worked, but it said it transferred.

this guy goes one step further, how cool would that be? man i wanna learn this. FUKK THE SYSTEM!!!
