back back back to 1992. Name the btbz and btbz's friends and the time they appear. P.S. RUTHERS!!!!

Chump's bachelor party hotel

ok, after loads of searching, i've booked the hotel for Chumps' bachelor party. what the HELL is going on on C-bus this weekend? most of the hotels i tried to get into were booked solid. i reserved two rooms, two beds each, and we can get a roll-away, if necessary, for each room. i'm trying to get adjoining rooms, if possible. sorry, T, it's non-smoking. that's a total of six sleeping arrangements. don't let that deter anyone from not crashing there though. this is the last bachelor party in who-knows-how-long (wasko and i are the only ones left, right?). so, now i need a count.

who thinks they'll crash there? i'm going to try to get into the hotel around noon, if possible, get some beers on ice, set up the sodomy machine i purchased just for Chump on his special day, etc. anyone not working or getting off early, want to meet me for beers or lunch or something, come on over. we'll taxi every this night, because i'm planning on everyone getting thoroughly (yet safely) plastered. let's show Chump a good time. has anyone talked to crozier? let's give him a call, at least invite him. i don't have his number. if someone has it, send it to me, and i'll give him a call.

the hotel is at:

Best Western Columbus North
888 E Dublin-Granville Road
Columbus , Ohio 43229

get back to me if you are going to crash there, etc. if crozier comes, we might have to see about getting more comedy tickets. T did you take care of that?

T's Bachelor Slideshow

For the wedding, Jackie and I have decided to make a DVD slideshow to play at the receptions. (Well, actually SHE decided I would make it.) Anyway, it's going to be similar to the picture slideshow I made for Crozier's 50th. However, the one I made for Crozier was "down-n-dirty", i.e. I made it from scratch using Macromedia (now Adobe) Flash. It turned out good, but it took A LOT of work and A LOT of time to get everything right, synced up, and burnt to DVD. Fortunately for me, there are several commercial programs on the market that do the same thing, but with much less work on my part and can produce a similar (if not better) result. So, long story short, I've been previewing several trial versions of these commercial slideshow software packages so I can decide which one I'm actually going to spend money on. Tonight, I was piecing together a sample slideshow with pics from T's bachelor party in Myrtle. The above video was thrown together and tweeked in little over a half-hour so I could get a feel for the software before I purchase the full version. Note that this is my first attempt at using new software so I threw in all kinds of crazy transitions and pan / zoom effects. It turned out so well that I decided to publish to YouTube so the rest of the world could enjoy it as well.

how to pack like a stripper

i've been really busy at work, AND really busy on the blogosphere. during lunch, after my migraine, i found a million links i wanted to share. most are at NT, so i will post this video here. despite the unorthodox title, the subject matter is something that we can all take away some tips from. lawren sawyer helps to show us some good packing tips that we can all use (except for maybe the g-string stuff, i'll leave that for the ladies). that should be the last post for the day. i hope you found it both entertaining and informative.

Rockband DLC: March 25, 2008

It's a Boston 6-pack. Good thing I'll get my box back on Tuesday when this comes out.

“More Than a Feeling” (Master)

“Peace of Mind” (Master)

“Smokin’” (Master)

“Rock & Roll Band” (Master)

“Something About You” (Master)

“Hitch a Ride” (Master)

Each song can be purchased individually for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) or all 6 can be purchased as a pack for $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points). They will be available next week through the Xbox Live! Marketplace, and through Sony's PlayStation Store.

Finally... a 235lb Dog That Doesn't Shit

This is a robotic quadra-ped robot named Big Dog. It's pretty cool the way it walks on four legs. Kinda looks like two connected humans facing each other from the waist down. I like the way it can traverse unstable terrain, but still correct itself to maintain balance. I thought it was hilarious when the guy kicks it and it still stands, but I laughed my ass off when that fukker hit ice. Reminds me of watching a baby deer or something learning to walk.

ADDENDUM: Wow! Me and Juddy posted two different things, both at exactly 1:37 AM.

Some more ideas for Chump's Bachelor Party

Ruling out golfing and the Blue Jackets game, here are a few ideas I found:

1. Phil Palisoul at the Funnybone in Easton.(04/04/08)

2. Trip to Gameworks, Dave & Busters or The Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe.

3. Gotta go to Hooters. They closed the one on 161. The one we went to for Red's party.

I agree with Chad on doing something we never get to do. I vote for the Funnybone. There's a show at 8:00pm and 10:15pm.

Update: Talked to Chad about the Funnybone idea and it sounds like a go. We need to know who's in to get tickets in advance. They are $15(plus $2 service charge) in advance. We can choose to eat there as well or eat somewhere else. Comment below ASAP if you're in or out.

Chump's bachelor party

since it seems a trip is out of the question, here is my thinkin'. friday, 4-april (i fly in late on the 3rd), we go to a bar or two, go to kahoot's, whatever anyone else can think of here, then we crash at a hotel nearby. i'm looking at the fairfield inn at 3031 olentangy. we'll taxi everywhere so we can all get messed up accordingly... i MIGHT look into a van of sorts, but no promises there. maybe some golfing or something saturday, see if anything exciting is going on in town. i'm also open to other suggestions, particularly from the bachelor. let's do this right (or as right as we can with financial and time constraints).

so, does friday work for everyone? would saturday be better? who will be in town AND available to take part in the festivities? if i get a hotel room, i'll try to get 2-3 adjoining depending on the number of people. i know most of you all live in columbus, but this would make the drinking/driving/debauchery easier to organize. get back to me as soon as everyone can. if you know someone might be in town who doesn't read this, get in touch with them, get the info, and get back to me.

i get it now... guitar hero

after several frustrating attempts to use logic (and google translator) to translate a german webpage to get an embed code for a video, i was successful,, and thus, you have the video below. after i watching this video, i can now FINALLY understand the BTBz fascination with guitar hero.

Call me old-fashioned...

... but I still prefer to learn my computer languages from books. Yes, those things made out of paper and printed with ink. Holding a book makes you look smarter. Heaven forbid you use those 3M flags to mark pages for future reference. If a chick sees a man with a thick book and said book has at least 8 of those 3M flags sticking out of it, she'll promptly proposition that man on the spot. I'm not even kidding. It's happened to me at least twice. For reals.

OK, seriously, I just like being able to open a book to learn something new and not need to boot the computer. Once I am on the computer, I have to fight the urge to look at pr0n. (See JHo's comment from the AI reviews the other week). Trust me, there is NO pr0n in "The Definitive Guide to mySQL 5.0". I have to admit the section on creating a PHP class to store encrypted login information did make my genitalia tingle just a bit.

But I digress. In my quest to develop web based apps, I realized that I need to brush up on, no, re-learn, my html (who can forget my looping Austin Powers theme music and the *surprise!* picture of Doug the Miller Lite guy). Also I need to learn some CSS as well. Seeing as several of y'all dabble in web design and/or developing, I was wondering if you had any recommendations. I don't mind URLs but would much prefer book titles.

Wedding Update #2

Okay... it looks like the general consensus is the Hampton Inn next to TJ's Sports Garden in Wheeling. This is good, because it's less than a mile from the reception and significantly cheaper than the Downs. Anybody in the wedding party wanting to make reservations, the phone number is 304.233.0440 . There has been a bank of room set aside under Blon/Polivka. If you can, be sure to book before Monday, when our invites will be arriving for other guest that may want to book as well. Let me know when you do, so we'll have some idea of how many rooms are left.

All Right, Z...

Word has reached CVG that a big Xbox 360 announcement will be made in the Middle East next week, which could well mean the region's introduction to Xbox Live.

We're reliably informed that invitations have been sent out for the Dubai-based event, which promises "big news" for Xbox 360 in the region.

Microsoft's console has already launched in the Middle East, though without its highly regarded online service. That's a bit like having bread without butter.

Since events and announcements are rarely ever made in the region, says our source, this could very likely mean the launch of Xbox Live in the Middle East. That means we'll have even more strangers swearing at us from foreign parts. Welcome aboard!

Microsoft UK was unavailable for comment when we picked up the phone, but we'll let you know if and when it gets back to us.

Wedding Info Update

Just a few things... first off, if you haven't gotten fitted for your tux yet, time is running out to do it before they charge you a "rush fee."

Most importantly, I need your input on lodging arrangements. Jackie and I looked into staying at Wheeling Downs, but that seems to be a little pricey. The next option isthe Hampton Inn across from TJ's Sports' Garden. We already have a bank of rooms reserved at each place, but I want to know where the rest of the wedding party wants to stay. Jackie has told me that most of the girls won't stay at a hotel, but rather at home, so it's really up to "us guys" where we want to stay.

Wheeling Downs is ~$150/night with a %10 discount with a preferred players card - they're free to sign up for, so getting one is no problem. The Hampton Inn is ~$100/night with a %10 discount if you have a AAA card (not so easy to get) or regularly $105-120/night.

Let me know what you guys want to do ASAP!!!!! We are sending out the wedding invites Friday (with lodging options in them), so you'll all have 'til Monday to book rooms so we can all stay at the same place (before other wedding guests start reserving all the rooms.)

Man Down!

3 Red Lights... if you own an xbox, you probably just soiled your britches. Unfortunately, T is awaiting a box for his xbox. He got the 3 red lights Saturday morning, so don't expect to see him online for the next 1.5 months... just in time for Chump's wedding.

It really is amazing. The 360 is arguably the #1 "next gen" console out there. If Nintendo could manufacture the Wii on any kind of scale they would be number one. If there were any games available for the PS3, they would be number one. Instead m$ produced a giant piece of shit early and often and dropped the $ to get exclusives on games. Hell, the PS3 killed HD-DVD, but they can't kill a POS gaming console. I'm mad as hell and I'm going to drink some more.

Also, Seth Green is the hardest working man in show business. I left Comedy Central on. Reno 911! is on and who do I see? Seth F-ing Green. He already has multiple shows on Adult Swim and played a bit role in the game Mass Effect. Chances are he'll take over the world, but the thing is, no one will probably notice. Then suddenly you'll see him at the UN next to someone giving a speech. Next time you'll see him walking in the White House. He'll be driving a tank in Moscow the week after... never being the main focus of any story, but in every single story in a supporting role. I'm on to you Seth Green and I for one, will be watching your every move from this point on. Damn your entertaining black heart.
