This Is Why I Don't Watch Baseball...

and NASCAR: everybody cheats.

When more talk is about which Manufacturer has the advantage in horsepower instead of who is the better driver (it's been like this for years now), there are problems with stock car racing. When Toyota wins 15 of 25 Nationwide Series races, with Joe Gibbs Racing winning a bulk of them, and they resort to low tactics to remain above the rest, it goes to show the dollar and corporations are ruining the sport.

Of all the cheating incidents seen in recent memory, there are probably countless episodes that were never caught. Just like baseball, the large amount of "turn your back towards so to claim ignorance to keep the money flowing" is sinking this sport in my eyes. I wonder if there are more out there who feel this way.

Not me. I still love NASCAR. Sure there are problems, but you'll get that with every major league sport. It's not just NASCAR and MLB, look at the NFL, NBA, NCAA, Olympics, etc... The list goes on and on. There is not one major sport without some controversy at some time.

But I don't think that just because there are some "issues" with NASCAR, that the sport is diluted. Sure Gibb's Toyotas tend to win a majority of the races, and there is alleged cheating, but that's just part of the sport. I'm not condoning it, I'm just saying that that stuff happens, and when it draws attention to itself, NASCAR puts a fix in place. There's a natural flow and ebb to the sport. One team dominates one season, then another team catches up, then the next year it's someone completely different. And whoever is on top, be it Gibb, Hendrick, Rousch, or Petty (well, we don't have to worry 'bout Petty), there is always going to be rumors of cheating amongst the competitors.

I'm not trying to defend NASCAR for what it is or what they do. I'm just saying that I love watching the Sprint Cars every week and love the competition and excitement. NASCAR is in no way waning in my eyes. I watch every race I can, and DVR the one's I miss. In fact I came home from work last night at 11:30pm and turned it on to watch the last half of the Michigan race.

If there is one thing that bothers me about NASCAR, specifically the Sprint Cup right now, it's that Kyle Busch wins too much. It's not that he wrecked Jr. at Richmond, or that he's a cocky SOB... It's just that I would rather see a variety of winners rather than the same old guy winning every week. I'll give credit where credit is due, and Kyle is one hell of a wheel man. Can't take that away from him. But I'm just not a KB fan.

That being said, I'm still not going to stop watching the sport I love just because I don't like the winning-est driver or manufacturer. Like I said, give it some time, and that will all change.

I want to see major fines. major points deductions. a major crack-down.

Nascar's become to predictable. You have the same few driver's winning each and every week, same bunch of driver's running in the middle and the same group of loser's bringing up up the rear. I guess it's always been like that. I'm just getting sick of watching the same thing happen every week.
