Do we really need a remake of this film

I like this film, but does it really need to be remade. Now, the second film was great. They should really remake it. But how do you remake a film that Mike Taylor says, "Has top notch special effects, great acting, and one hell of a plot." Good luck to the person who attempts it. "Sad story. Got a smoke?"
