It Is A Rebuilding Year But....

This game should not have been this far apart. Sure, the Buckeye's were predicted to lose 4 or 5 games this year and be nowhere near a BCS game this season, but they made it to the national championship. What did they do? Absolutely Nothing!!!!!

Just like last year. They were overpowered by a team that deserved to be there. The real championship should have been USC vs LSU. Those were the best 2 teams in the country bar NONE.

Buckeyes got in because of their name. That name lost a little more credibility this evening. Sure, they are a young team who never expected to be here at the beginning, but they made it; they had a shot at winning, or, at least, keep the game close.

The game falls on 5 plays that determined the outcome of the game. 1 and 2: personal fouls against the Buckeyes that gave LSU their first TD of the game (in the same drive). 3: personal foul on a blocked punt that resulted in a LSU TD. 4: PERSONAL foul on the play after (3) that gave LSU better field position and led to the that TD. 5: every play OSU called (offense and defense). Coaching was the factor in every play this game (obviously) and LSU had the better to all but a few of those decisions.

Just like last championship game, OSU was OUT-COACHED!!!! OSU was on it's heels on D almost every play this game. Even in shotgun w/ 5 wide recievers, OSU didn't know if LSU would run or pass. That takes skill. The coaching kept OSU wondering what they were gonna run every play.

OSU, on the other hand, seemed to play in what LSU defensive plan was. When OSU lined up packed w/ 2 TE's, they ran. When they spread out, they threw. When they threw on first down, they ran on second (and the formation showed it). On third and short (when it might be goood to work the short slant or SOMEBODY over the middle), they went sideline downfield. Boeckman, instead of making quick decisions, paused too much which caused TO's and sacks. Where was the play-calling for short passes? They were around on second down but not for 3rd and short and 4th. Or Boeckman decided to do too much and not take the chance to rifle a pass on a slant and kept it too much. There was too much pressure on him to wait out a play to develop for more than a few seconds. He had to get rid of it sooner. He resorted to a fade pass down the sideline that may have been complete to a receiver against AKRON ,but not LSU. The are TOO FAST. YES SEC SHOWED THEY ARE FASTER THAN BIG TEN.

OSU was OutCoached and outplayed, but more OUTCOACHED!!!!! AGAIN!!!!! THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW. I DON'T THINK ANOTHER YEARS EXPERIENCE WILL HELP A TEAM THAT GETS OUTCOACHED IN THE BIG GAME (and i am not talking about 'THE TEAM UP NORTH')
