BTK, have it your way...

Anyone know who the BTK Killer is? He was a serial killer who wreaked havoc around the Wichita, Kansas, area for almost 20 years. What is so special about him? Well, he killed 10 people. He sent letters to police and local media after the murders started occurring boasting of his knowledge of the crimes and his gloating of not getting caught.

BTK stood for Bind, Torture, Kill. Which is what he did to all his victims. But, why you ask, "Why are you bringing him up?"

He was finally caught by technology. DNA was collected in the 70's that wasn't maximized in evidence until the 2000's. Also, computers were more prevalent. He started writing and sending 'floppy discs' to police (after he was assured by police that 'floppy discs' could not be tracked to a single computer - IDIOT). Once the discs were analyzed, they showed the Windows software "Name" and "Organization". Using that information, the police analyzed DNA from the suspect's daughter which tied BTK to her dad.

Why do I bring this up? The "Organization" was Christ Lutheran Church. And the "Name" was the Deacon of the Church.

Once again.... Christians ruin life!!!!

if this really happened, pretty cool

this fella named erik nordenankar created "the biggest drawing in the world" supposedly, by sending a GPS unit to 6 continents via DHL, tracking the whole trip. he said he gave specific instruction to DHL, and that is where i'm a bit suspicious. there are a lot of strange loops during the trip route. still, that might explain why a CD i ordered from dubai almost a month ago, still hasn't arrived. DHL is doing publicity stunts with avant-garde artists instead of getting my shite here when i need it.

click on the words on the opening page to go to an explanation of his idea, his path instructions, and a video tracking some of the destinations. if you click on this picture, it'll open in a new window, and click it again for the large version.

Juddy puked, I confirmed it.

Here's a pic from last weekend. On Friday night, Juddy, Chump, and myself were down at the F bar getting plastered as usual. We had to leave early because me, Juddy, and Chug were golfing in the Jack Flanigan Memorial Tournament the next morning. Well Juddy had a reversal of fortune when we got back to his place. He came stumbling down the hall with "puffy cheeks" and a hand over his mouth. He made it to the bathroom, but the hand block couldn't keep the damn from breaking in the dining room. Here's a pic of drunken Juddy(in his boxers no less) cleaning up the floor while Chug supervises the cleanup effort. Sorry for the quality of my camera phone.

If I ever played minor league hockey...

...I would probably have a story just like this.

NHL Stanley Cup Finals: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Detroit Red Wings. Post #3

Stanley Cup Final notes, nuggets and storylines. Good reading material if you have time. Here's my fav:

* Six members of the Pittsburgh Penguins were not born when Chelios made his NHL debut: Jordan Staal (9/10/88), Marc-Andre Fleury (11/28/84), Tyler Kennedy (7/15/86), Kris Letang 4/24/87), Evgeni Malkin (7/31/86) and Sidney Crosby (8/7/87).

NHL Stanley Cup Finals: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Detroit Red Wings. Post #2

Erra brain tumor erra

This post brought to you by Red Stripe...

Boo Red Wings, Hooray Pens!

end of the world?

pretty funny flash animation about the end of the world, and BTBz has it, right here.

J Ho vs. The Hearing and Visually Impared

A few interesting new items have been rolling around in my head recently involving deaf and blind people. First came this report of a deaf couple trying to conceive a child. They are wanting to use scientific methods to make sure thier offspring is a deaf child. How does any civilized medical establishment even give the thought of intentionally disabling a fetus because of the parents' wishes?

Some argue that the parents have the right to make the child like the parents so the child will be able to adjust and 'fit in' with the deaf 'lifestyle'. Deaf isn't a lifestyle. Americans have a certain lifestyle that is different that a Japanese lifestyle. Terrain, culture, food, weather, location, and many more variables determine a 'lifestyle'. Homosexuality might be considered a lifestyle to some. But being deaf is a defect in the human body. It is not a choice. It is not following societal norms, dealing with what the land gives, or ancient teachings and customs thats makes a person deaf, it is a physical defect.

The child who can hear can't operate in a deaf family? Sign Language will be the child's first language. His second will be English voice. An impressionable child will have no problem handling both languages and will be able to communicate with his or her parents just as well as hearing persons. More is to be lost than gained by removing the ability to hear from a child. What if a paralyzed couple who can still concieve through in-vitro fertilization wants to make sure thier child is born without the use of it's legs? So to fit in with the parents. Would you think that is allowable? Or would you say, "It's not the same." Answer: It is the same.

Then this article came to my attention. So, now blind people want a re-designed American currency because they can't see the dollar amount. Again, the American's With Disabilities Act strikes again. Some people, including prominent disabled authors, believe that the ADA has done more to hurt than help disabled Americans. Here is a Penn & Teller "Bullshit" episode talking about this very argument: Part 1; Part 2; Part 3.

At what point can the government go, "That's enough. We've bent over backwards to give the largest disabled groups adequated access to all government buildings. You just are not going to stop. There will always be something that may not be 'disabled-friendly'."? There are things such as 'debit cards' that take the place of currency. Also, a blind person must have at least one trusted person to help with a system of handling currency. Since when does everything need to be changed to support a small population? Ever since the ADA. So Sign Language must be taught in all schools so everyone can be fair? So dumb people who can't add must be supplied a calculator by the government?

So in a few years all American currency will have braile and all the old currency will need to be removed, again; this time not to stop counterfeighting (like who would want to make more U.S. money, it's in the tank). Just increase the costs to all Americans for the very few: The American Way. Just to make sure the lawyers don't go sue-crazy.

Quoting a title from a Rolling Stones song: "You can't always get what you want." Not everybody can do everything. Deal.

i'm online, baby! now i need someone to fedex me GTA IV. C is playing now and i don't have it, blast. i got a fedex account and i can paypal if someone wants to send some games my way. if so, i'll send the addy.

next thing, i need to figure out how to get with the BTBz when i'm 7 hours ahead. i'm available from 6AM thursday (ohio time) through about 5PM friday. and then some vague times on saturday and sunday when someone is one.

i just played some halo3 online, and i'm DAMN rusty. see ya online.

i hooked up my XBOX360 today! i walked through the wireless network settings, put in my WEP password, all was going great, then the network testing. it stumbled a few times, i had to reboot my router once, now i'm stumped. i pass all of the network tests, but when it gets to the "XBOX LIVE" test, it fails and doesn't tell me how to fix it. i checked xbox.com and couldn't find anything. i asked their tech support. we'll see what they have to tell me. any ideas? i was hoping to surprise you guys with a guest appearance, but i guess that might not happen for a bit. until then, i'll go warm up. thanks.

May The Force, and a 2-1/2 Gallon Box of Wine, Be With You

HOLYHEAD, Wales(AP) A man who dressed up as Darth Vader, wearing a garbage bag for a cape, and assaulted the founders of a group calling itself the Jedi church was given a suspended sentence Tuesday.

Arwel Wynne Hughes, 27, attacked Jedi church founder Barney Jones _ aka Master Jonba Hehol _ with a metal crutch, hitting him on the head, prosecutors told Holyhead Magistrates' Court.

He also whacked Jones' 18-year-old cousin, Michael Jones _ known as Master Mormi Hehol _ bruising his thigh in the March 25 incident, prosecutors said.

The two cousins and Barney Jones' brother, Daniel, set up the Church of Jediism, Anglesey order, last year. Jedi is the faith followed by some of the central characters in the "Star Wars" films.

The group, which claims about 30 members, says on its Web site that it uses "insight and knowledge" from the films as "a guide to living a better and more worthwhile life."

"We all love the films and what they stand for. Obviously some people are going to laugh about it," the Wales on Sunday newspaper quoted Barney Jones as saying last month. "But a lot of people do take it seriously."

Unfortunately for Hughes, his March attack was recorded on a video camera that the cousins had set up to film themselves in a light saber battle.

"Darth Vader! Jedis!" Hughes shouted as he approached.

Hughes claimed he couldn't remember the incident, having drunk the better part of a 2 1/2-gallon (10-liter) box of wine beforehand.

"He knows his behavior was wrong and didn't want it to happen but he has no recollection of it," said Hughes' lawyer, Frances Jones.

District Judge Andrew Shaw sentenced Hughes to two months in jail but suspended the sentence for one year. He also ordered Hughes to pay $195 to each of his victims and $117 in court costs.

In the 2001 United Kingdom census, 390,000 _ 0.7 percent of the population _ listed Jedi as their religion.

Rich Didn't Take Long...

to do another stupid thing and piss off Michigan Alumni. This time he broke Michigan Tradition (the longest, most successful college football program) of giving the jersey number "1" to a standout wide receiver. This tradition dated back to Anthony Carter. A tradition that inspired Braylon Edwards to create a half a million dollar scholarship. That number is an honor for wide-outs at Michigan, that is, until Rich Rodriguez decides to give the number to a freshman defensive back.

Either he doesn't care or didn't know about this very important designation; either way he is dismantling the tradition of Michigan Football. He is ignoring the past and installing his own brand to the team. It is another big mistake.

And...
Quoting Notre Dame's Head Coach Charlie Weis, "I have always been one to never make excuses and not go about airing it. We're going to start on September 6 with San Diego State. I think that the first opportunity we're really gonna have to make a statement is that day. And then we'll listen to Michigan have all their excuses as they come running in and saying how they have a new coaching staff and there's changes. To hell with Michigan!"

The funniest thing about my job is...

The names of some of our customers. We have one lady whose name is Gae Cox. Another lady's name is Debbie D. Light. Well today I get a phone call from Beaver Seed and Supply and of course the guy's name is Harry Beaver. Good stuff. Reminds me of Harry Bonar, our weekend mailman back home on the hill.

Flying SkyBus? Are you sure?

This is a month old, but I just found out today. I went to http://www.skybus.com to check out flights. Is Hooters Air still flying?

I think it's awesome that once every two or three years someone thinks they can make a low fare airline profitable. Better yet, someone else thinks someone can make a low cost airline profitable and gives them some money to try it.

I am going to paint rat shit white and sell it as rice. Anyone want to give me some money?

GTA 4... Overrated?

The following statements reflect the opinion of B Town Big C and not necessarily that of this blog or any other B Town Boy. Thank you.

I meant to post this yesterday but ran out of time at work. Lord knows I'm not taking personal time to post :) It's funny how you can change your mind in 24 hours...

The driving force behind my feelings about GTA 4 is that IGN.com gave this game a 10 out of 10. According to IGN, a console game has not been rated a 10 since 1999. Think of all the games that have come out since then... Is GTA 4 the best game you've played since college?

The first time I played, I thought the answer was a resounding "NO". The graphics are not spectacular... the camera feels broken at times... the missions get fairly predictable. You may or may not steal a car, drive to a location, kill a person or people, and you may or may not then have to run from the cops. Sometimes you do a drug deal to change things up a bit.

But, eventually you get used to the camera. As the game goes along you get introduced to more and more characters. And that's where this game shines. If you haven't talked to Brucie yet, just wait. I won't spoil it for you, but he has to be one of the best personalities I've seen in a game. The formula for the missions stays about the same, but now you get to use sniper rifles, grenades, and the other weapons that make free roam multiplayer so fun. Those weapons do the same for the missions.

Speaking of multiplayer, last night's free roam session was the most fun I've had online since Chump and I got caught (fill in the blank) in the caves playing Halo 3. I think the best part is randomly getting caught up in someone else's something. Somebody running from the cops? Hell yeah I want to jump in their car and ride with them, firing my uzi out the window. The cops are after me? Chump, come pick me up. We gots to go NOW! Juddy wants to race down the freeway? Sure why not. T wants to grab a boat and wreak havoc on the open water? I'd love to fire a rocket into some stuck-up asshole's sailboat. Grab a helo and we'll all head over to Happiness Island and shoot some tourists. Good stuff.

Is this the best game I've played since college? I'm starting to change my mind. I'll say this: it's close. It's definitely the best "sandbox" game I've ever played, and makes Burnout Paradise look even worse than it did before. The character development is beginning to rival that in Mass Effect (supposed to be the new hybrid shooter/RPG genre that is developing). I actually kind of care about Roman and hope he lands that chick someday. Brucie cracks me up everytime he talks or emails or texts. I'm sure I would like Little John or whoever the rasta guy is if I could understand one damn word he says.

Personally I still give the nod to GRAW 2. I would have Goldeneye 007 over GTA4 if we go back to 1996. Do I think GTA4 is a 10 out of 10? No. There are still a lot of technical flaws with the game that simply should not be there. Yesterday I would have said this game was only a little better than Burnout Paradise. One mission and a couple of free roam sessions later and I can say I've definitely changed my mind. This game is a shit-ton of fun and I hope the free roam doesn't get too old too fast.

Upcoming Events

  • It's never too early to plan on attending the annual Coke 600/Indy 500 party at T's on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Reserve your spot now as the event is sure to be a big one. Will Danica win the 500? Will Kyle Busch put Junior into the wall or will Junior be seeking revenge in the 600? Will Big C show up? Will Chump knock over his Bubba Keg and say "I'm pissed"? Be there!

  • Taylor Woods and Juddy Duval have been confirmed to participate in the Flannigan's Open at Paradise Hills golf course on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Tee times have yet to be announced. Show up and you just may get hit by a golf ball(Now there's a souvenir for a lucky fan). I'll personally sign it for you if it's mine. Who's going to win? Taylor Woods? Juddy Duval? The field? I'm taking the field.

  • C and myself are possibly thinking of attending a NHL Stanley Cup Finals game should the matchup be between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Detroit Red Wings. Seeing as how the Conference Finals start Thursday night, we are not sure of when/where. Let me know if anyone else would be interested if the matchup happens.

Didn't Know Where To Put This...

post. I'm talkin' bout censorship. Recently I went to one of my link sites, and I got this instead of my normal Firefox page not found.

I was able to pull the site I wanted on my cell phone, but not on RoadRunner. How can that be? Then I thought, where did the RoadRunner Search Engine come from? I didn't install it as my default search engine. This site goes to this RoadRunner engine on both of my computers attached to my home network (through RoadRunner). I then noticed on this search site that on the bottom right corner is this 'opt out' link.

once I click on it it says I can ...

once I disabled these settings, I was able to access the web sites I wanted to visit (not only on the one computer I disabled, but the other computer immediately updated). I call this censorship. They are just hoping that the layman will not notice the 'opt out' link at the bottom right and BLOCK web sites. Where are we China? Are our freedoms being reduced even more? What web sites will soon be barred by Corporate America? Where are our freedoms at any more?

The site I was trying to access possesses nothing but LINKS to other web sites. But, you know, RoadRunner Cannot Bar A Pay Site From It's Customers, so they find a back door to infringe on the freedom of the Internet.

I Knew....

it was 'healthy' for you, but it REALLY is healthy! I am gonna get healthy right now.

Rich Didn't Take Long...

to begin the official downfall of Michigan for at least the next few years. Justin Boren, Michigan's starting offensive lineman last season, has decided to transfer from Michigan to, get this, OHIO STATE!!!! That is unprecedented. Never before has a Michigan football player transfered to O.S.U.

What did he say as the reason to transfer: "family values have eroded" under Rich Rodriguez. Boren, a sophomore student, will have to sit out the 2008 season (NCAA Rules) but will play (and start) in 2009. What a coup!!!

What does this mean? How bad does this look for Michigan and Rodriguez? It's one thing to have a player leave because he doesn't fit into the new system (Ryan Mallett), but to leave the team because the 'family' is broken, that is amazing. At least Mallett didn't go to Ohio State. And Boren isn't a bench-rider hiding behind an All-American; he started all 13 games last season. Who leaves a team when they start? NOBODY!

And not just a starter, a true Michigan Man. His dad was coached under Bo Schembechler. He grew up bleeding Maize and Blue. Rich Rodriguez was able to destroy that family in only a few weeks time?

Johnny Damon to the Yanks is tame compared to Boren going to the Bucks. This made the greatest rivalry in sports even better, or bitter.

Blacula

Washington Wizard's head coach Eddie Jordan.

Blacula started out as a joke two years ago when me and T went to Leroy's place to watch the playoff game, and we all noticed that Eddie Jordan looked like a black Dracula, thus Blacula. So last Saturday, during game one of the Cav's / Wizards, T sent me this picture message with the title "Blacula... he wants to suck your blood." Then last night, during game 2 I forwarded the pic to Scooby (who was there for the first dubbing of Blacula). I got a reply from Scooby today who said that he was at the game last night, and loved the pic. In fact, he showed it to everyone around him, and everyone had a great laugh. So now, we're waiting for the Blacula epidemic to start.

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.

First details of the upcoming Ubisoft flight action game over at IGN. Not sure how similar this will be to Ace Combat 6. I never played it yet, but J Ho can fill in some details. HAWX will support 4 player jump in campaign. So you can go it alone or get help from your wingman of choice. There's also a 16 player online vs mode to try. Check out the video below. I like the tie-in with the Ghost Recon series.

A Look Back, In Time

back back back to 1992. Name the btbz and btbz's friends and the time they appear. P.S. RUTHERS!!!!

Chump's bachelor party hotel

ok, after loads of searching, i've booked the hotel for Chumps' bachelor party. what the HELL is going on on C-bus this weekend? most of the hotels i tried to get into were booked solid. i reserved two rooms, two beds each, and we can get a roll-away, if necessary, for each room. i'm trying to get adjoining rooms, if possible. sorry, T, it's non-smoking. that's a total of six sleeping arrangements. don't let that deter anyone from not crashing there though. this is the last bachelor party in who-knows-how-long (wasko and i are the only ones left, right?). so, now i need a count.

who thinks they'll crash there? i'm going to try to get into the hotel around noon, if possible, get some beers on ice, set up the sodomy machine i purchased just for Chump on his special day, etc. anyone not working or getting off early, want to meet me for beers or lunch or something, come on over. we'll taxi every this night, because i'm planning on everyone getting thoroughly (yet safely) plastered. let's show Chump a good time. has anyone talked to crozier? let's give him a call, at least invite him. i don't have his number. if someone has it, send it to me, and i'll give him a call.

the hotel is at:

Best Western Columbus North
888 E Dublin-Granville Road
Columbus , Ohio 43229

get back to me if you are going to crash there, etc. if crozier comes, we might have to see about getting more comedy tickets. T did you take care of that?

T's Bachelor Slideshow

For the wedding, Jackie and I have decided to make a DVD slideshow to play at the receptions. (Well, actually SHE decided I would make it.) Anyway, it's going to be similar to the picture slideshow I made for Crozier's 50th. However, the one I made for Crozier was "down-n-dirty", i.e. I made it from scratch using Macromedia (now Adobe) Flash. It turned out good, but it took A LOT of work and A LOT of time to get everything right, synced up, and burnt to DVD. Fortunately for me, there are several commercial programs on the market that do the same thing, but with much less work on my part and can produce a similar (if not better) result. So, long story short, I've been previewing several trial versions of these commercial slideshow software packages so I can decide which one I'm actually going to spend money on. Tonight, I was piecing together a sample slideshow with pics from T's bachelor party in Myrtle. The above video was thrown together and tweeked in little over a half-hour so I could get a feel for the software before I purchase the full version. Note that this is my first attempt at using new software so I threw in all kinds of crazy transitions and pan / zoom effects. It turned out so well that I decided to publish to YouTube so the rest of the world could enjoy it as well.

how to pack like a stripper

i've been really busy at work, AND really busy on the blogosphere. during lunch, after my migraine, i found a million links i wanted to share. most are at NT, so i will post this video here. despite the unorthodox title, the subject matter is something that we can all take away some tips from. lawren sawyer helps to show us some good packing tips that we can all use (except for maybe the g-string stuff, i'll leave that for the ladies). that should be the last post for the day. i hope you found it both entertaining and informative.

Each song can be purchased individually for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) or all 6 can be purchased as a pack for $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points). They will be available next week through the Xbox Live! Marketplace, and through Sony's PlayStation Store.

Finally... a 235lb Dog That Doesn't Shit

This is a robotic quadra-ped robot named Big Dog. It's pretty cool the way it walks on four legs. Kinda looks like two connected humans facing each other from the waist down. I like the way it can traverse unstable terrain, but still correct itself to maintain balance. I thought it was hilarious when the guy kicks it and it still stands, but I laughed my ass off when that fukker hit ice. Reminds me of watching a baby deer or something learning to walk.

ADDENDUM: Wow! Me and Juddy posted two different things, both at exactly 1:37 AM.

Some more ideas for Chump's Bachelor Party

Ruling out golfing and the Blue Jackets game, here are a few ideas I found:

1. Phil Palisoul at the Funnybone in Easton.(04/04/08)

2. Trip to Gameworks, Dave & Busters or The Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe.

3. Gotta go to Hooters. They closed the one on 161. The one we went to for Red's party.

I agree with Chad on doing something we never get to do. I vote for the Funnybone. There's a show at 8:00pm and 10:15pm.

Update: Talked to Chad about the Funnybone idea and it sounds like a go. We need to know who's in to get tickets in advance. They are $15(plus $2 service charge) in advance. We can choose to eat there as well or eat somewhere else. Comment below ASAP if you're in or out.

Chump's bachelor party

since it seems a trip is out of the question, here is my thinkin'. friday, 4-april (i fly in late on the 3rd), we go to a bar or two, go to kahoot's, whatever anyone else can think of here, then we crash at a hotel nearby. i'm looking at the fairfield inn at 3031 olentangy. we'll taxi everywhere so we can all get messed up accordingly... i MIGHT look into a van of sorts, but no promises there. maybe some golfing or something saturday, see if anything exciting is going on in town. i'm also open to other suggestions, particularly from the bachelor. let's do this right (or as right as we can with financial and time constraints).

so, does friday work for everyone? would saturday be better? who will be in town AND available to take part in the festivities? if i get a hotel room, i'll try to get 2-3 adjoining depending on the number of people. i know most of you all live in columbus, but this would make the drinking/driving/debauchery easier to organize. get back to me as soon as everyone can. if you know someone might be in town who doesn't read this, get in touch with them, get the info, and get back to me.

i get it now... guitar hero

after several frustrating attempts to use logic (and google translator) to translate a german webpage to get an embed code for a video, i was successful,, and thus, you have the video below. after i watching this video, i can now FINALLY understand the BTBz fascination with guitar hero.

Call me old-fashioned...

... but I still prefer to learn my computer languages from books. Yes, those things made out of paper and printed with ink. Holding a book makes you look smarter. Heaven forbid you use those 3M flags to mark pages for future reference. If a chick sees a man with a thick book and said book has at least 8 of those 3M flags sticking out of it, she'll promptly proposition that man on the spot. I'm not even kidding. It's happened to me at least twice. For reals.

OK, seriously, I just like being able to open a book to learn something new and not need to boot the computer. Once I am on the computer, I have to fight the urge to look at pr0n. (See JHo's comment from the AI reviews the other week). Trust me, there is NO pr0n in "The Definitive Guide to mySQL 5.0". I have to admit the section on creating a PHP class to store encrypted login information did make my genitalia tingle just a bit.

But I digress. In my quest to develop web based apps, I realized that I need to brush up on, no, re-learn, my html (who can forget my looping Austin Powers theme music and the *surprise!* picture of Doug the Miller Lite guy). Also I need to learn some CSS as well. Seeing as several of y'all dabble in web design and/or developing, I was wondering if you had any recommendations. I don't mind URLs but would much prefer book titles.

Wedding Update #2

Okay... it looks like the general consensus is the Hampton Inn next to TJ's Sports Garden in Wheeling. This is good, because it's less than a mile from the reception and significantly cheaper than the Downs. Anybody in the wedding party wanting to make reservations, the phone number is 304.233.0440 . There has been a bank of room set aside under Blon/Polivka. If you can, be sure to book before Monday, when our invites will be arriving for other guest that may want to book as well. Let me know when you do, so we'll have some idea of how many rooms are left.

All Right, Z...

Word has reached CVG that a big Xbox 360 announcement will be made in the Middle East next week, which could well mean the region's introduction to Xbox Live.

We're reliably informed that invitations have been sent out for the Dubai-based event, which promises "big news" for Xbox 360 in the region.

Microsoft's console has already launched in the Middle East, though without its highly regarded online service. That's a bit like having bread without butter.

Since events and announcements are rarely ever made in the region, says our source, this could very likely mean the launch of Xbox Live in the Middle East. That means we'll have even more strangers swearing at us from foreign parts. Welcome aboard!

Microsoft UK was unavailable for comment when we picked up the phone, but we'll let you know if and when it gets back to us.

Wedding Info Update

Just a few things... first off, if you haven't gotten fitted for your tux yet, time is running out to do it before they charge you a "rush fee."

Most importantly, I need your input on lodging arrangements. Jackie and I looked into staying at Wheeling Downs, but that seems to be a little pricey. The next option isthe Hampton Inn across from TJ's Sports' Garden. We already have a bank of rooms reserved at each place, but I want to know where the rest of the wedding party wants to stay. Jackie has told me that most of the girls won't stay at a hotel, but rather at home, so it's really up to "us guys" where we want to stay.

Wheeling Downs is ~$150/night with a %10 discount with a preferred players card - they're free to sign up for, so getting one is no problem. The Hampton Inn is ~$100/night with a %10 discount if you have a AAA card (not so easy to get) or regularly $105-120/night.

Let me know what you guys want to do ASAP!!!!! We are sending out the wedding invites Friday (with lodging options in them), so you'll all have 'til Monday to book rooms so we can all stay at the same place (before other wedding guests start reserving all the rooms.)

Man Down!

3 Red Lights... if you own an xbox, you probably just soiled your britches. Unfortunately, T is awaiting a box for his xbox. He got the 3 red lights Saturday morning, so don't expect to see him online for the next 1.5 months... just in time for Chump's wedding.

It really is amazing. The 360 is arguably the #1 "next gen" console out there. If Nintendo could manufacture the Wii on any kind of scale they would be number one. If there were any games available for the PS3, they would be number one. Instead m$ produced a giant piece of shit early and often and dropped the $ to get exclusives on games. Hell, the PS3 killed HD-DVD, but they can't kill a POS gaming console. I'm mad as hell and I'm going to drink some more.

Also, Seth Green is the hardest working man in show business. I left Comedy Central on. Reno 911! is on and who do I see? Seth F-ing Green. He already has multiple shows on Adult Swim and played a bit role in the game Mass Effect. Chances are he'll take over the world, but the thing is, no one will probably notice. Then suddenly you'll see him at the UN next to someone giving a speech. Next time you'll see him walking in the White House. He'll be driving a tank in Moscow the week after... never being the main focus of any story, but in every single story in a supporting role. I'm on to you Seth Green and I for one, will be watching your every move from this point on. Damn your entertaining black heart.

Gay Men, Part Deux

Well, I am trying to do another week of commentary of American Idol (or AI according to THOSE people). I am so sick and tired of this drivel which is modern music. Give me '90's alternative' or 'Hard Attack' on Sirius Satellite Radio. Who knows how last year's winner, young black chick who is daughter of an NFL defensiveman, is doing. These people have no talent.

I don't even care to even do an individual commentary of each contestant. Most are not even inspiring me enough to think of something derogatory to say about them. But a few of them 'grind my gears' (because of how oblivious they are to their own deficiencies).

_________________________________________________________________________________

'I am a rocker, dude' guy: dude, you are not a rocker. you make Daughtry look and act like Gene Simmons. no matter how much you tell yourself you can get the 'rock' minutia of the population, you have no ROCK aspect in your repertoire. Scott Waters has more 'rocker' than him.
___________________________________________________________________________________

super, SUPER, super, SUPER, SuPeR, sUpEr, Gay Sanjaya!!!!
____________________________________________________________________________________

I can't help but look at the comb-over. Grow that mullet longer; it might take my attention from all the neck hair on the forehead. New Rule: if you call yourself or someone calls you a 'rocker' then you have to lite a "J" on stage or expose yourself on the live show. That is what real rockers do. Not sell-out for corporate America. 'Rocker' means struggle, playing in dive bars, and road hoes. Not FOX primetime and 10 year old girls deciding your fate.

That's Why

There is a record drop for the home price index which is the steepest decline in the 20-year history of housing index, foreclosures are up 57 percent from the last year, wholesale inflation is at a 26 year high, a drug-resistant TB is spreading, Yao Ming will miss the rest of the season, consumer confidence weakens significantly, Starbucks will close all stores for three hours, and oil surges back over 100 dollars a barrel. What does Bush have to say?

He's mad at Democrats for not renewing the warrant-less wiretapping surveillance bill.

Time to Get Yo Fit On

I just wanted to let everyone know (at least those that are in my wedding party... T, Redness, JHo, Big C, and Big Z) that NOW is the time to get fitted for your tux's. You can get fitted anytime before March 12th (that give you three weeks or so), before you'll have to pay extra for a "rush fee." You can get fitted at any "TUX" (formerly After Hours) location. All groomsmen are getting $20 off per rental, so the total is roughly $140 after tax, etc... As of last Friday, noone except for myself has been fitted. That included you, Z, who assured me that you were fitted before leaving for Egypt, you lying prick! You can choose to pick up your tux from any location, even the St. C store if you plan to be back in the valley that day. Pick up is Thursday, April 10th for the April 12th wedding. Let me know if anyone has any questions.

SPECIAL ASIDE FOR BIG Z: Apparently you lied about being fitted, or After Hours / TUX doesn't have a record of your sizes. Either way, they will need your measurements before 3.12.08. When you get the opportunity, get measured in Egypt and send those numbers to TUX, or even easier, get them back to me and I will call them in for you. Best bet would be to send them to me via email.

PS: Please, when you read this, post a small comment to let me know that you read this post. If I don't see a comment, I will be calling you in a couple of days.

Though Shall Not Kill, But...

It's All Right:
Worshippers praise youth pastor for confessing to murder
Worshippers praise Texas youth pastor for confessing to 1994 slaying of store clerk
By The Associated Press

Story Created: Feb 18, 2008 at 10:45 AM EST

Story Updated: Feb 18, 2008 at 3:30 PM EST
HOUSTON (AP) - The youth minister who confessed to a 1994 killing is being widely forgiven by members of his former congregation, who say they admire his courage in finally surrendering to police.

Calvin Wayne Inman, 29, remains jailed without bail since he was charged Wednesday with capital murder in the stabbing death of a convenience store clerk during a robbery. He was 16 at the time.

During Sunday's service at the 800-member Elim Church, congregants praised the recently ordained Inman as a born-again role model taking responsibility for his sin.

"He's a hero, really," said Kelley Graham, 24. "I don't know how many people would do what he did. The Bible says you just need to confess to God. Calvin took an extra step."

Inman went to authorities on Feb. 5 and admitted that he stabbed Iqbal Ahmed, 64, nearly 14 years ago in suburban Pasadena. According to police, Inman said he and a 13-year-old friend planned to rob the convenience store. When Ahmed asked to see identification before giving them tobacco, Inman stabbed Ahmed in the chest with a kitchen knife, police said.

Inman resigned from the youth job in December.

"The debt he's paying to our society is teaching our young people to do the right thing," said Cheryl Ellis, a member of the church's youth staff. "To lock him away someplace and say he owes it to society is robbing the next generation of a mentor."

Robin Thac said her 17-year-old son was active in the youth group that Inman led.

"I am thrilled my son has a role model to accept responsibility the way Calvin has," Thac said. "There are way too many men who don't accept responsibility."

Police have said Inman's friend has acknowledged being involved in the robbery but not the stabbing. Because of 1994 juvenile laws preventing prosecution of people 13 or younger, police said they could not charge the friend.
